Pearlie Novalean Powell of Lindsay, Oklahoma departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Moore Nursing Home in Moore, Oklahoma at the age of 85. She was born in the Banner Hill area, North of Lindsay, Oklahoma on December 2, 1925 to Roy Beam and Sallie Leora (Slate) Beam.
Novalean went to school at Banner Hill School. She lived and worked on the family farm all her life. She was a member of the Erin Springs Baptist Church. Novalean enjoyed crocheting and long drives around the countryside. She also loved gardening and canning vegetables. She will be greatly missed.
Ms. Powell is survived by her grandchildren; Tammy Wagstaff of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Traci Flanagan of Hickory, North Carolina and Novalean Owen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one brother, Lee Roy Beam and her great-grandchildren; Tad Owen, Cheyenne Owen, Katelyn Owen, Stepheny Wagstaff, Brennen Flanagan and Rianne Flanagan.
Ms. Powell was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Sallie Beam, one son, Stanley Powell, one brother, Glynn Beam and one sister, Christine Adams.
Funeral services for Ms. Powell are set for two o'clock p.m. on Friday, September 16th, 2011 at the B.G. Boydston Funeral Home Chapel, located at 308 S.W. Third Street in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Bro. Bill Love officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
