Vernon H. Olver, 86, of Merrillan, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000 at Black River Falls Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 6, 1914 in Alma Township, Jackson County, Wi, to Willard & Mabel (Graves) Olver.
He married La Verne Olson and she preceded him in death on Dec 7, 1993. He was employed as a tool die caster in Milwaukee Die casting for fifteen years and resided in Merrillan for the past twenty years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing pool. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susanne, in 1989, and by three brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Wallace(Kathleen)Olver of Mukwonago, and Wayne Olver of Merrillan, two daughters Carol(Larry) Simonis of Black River Falls, and Linda (Ralph) Zabel of East Troy, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Vernon H. Olver was held at 4:00pm on Monday, August 14th at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, with Rev. Thomas Dunham officiating. Burial took place in pole Grove Cemetery, rural Hixton. friends called at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
