David M. Baxley, of Council Bluffs passed away September 12, 2011.

He was born in Council Bluffs on January 10, 1944 to the late Donald & Mary Margaret (Buck) Baxley. David graduated from Thomas Jefferson in 1962 and was a longtime employee at Vickers.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Baxley and beloved dogs, Stretch and Buddy Bones.

David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna (Durham) Baxley; son and daughter-in-law, Scott P. & Gail Baxley; daughter and son-in-law, Penny Lynn & Braden Daniels; brothers, Ed Baxley & Kathie and Chuck Baxley & Carla; sister Geri Smith; step-mother, Velma Baxley; step-siblings, Mary Stellish, Tom Capel and David Capel; 7 grandchildren and a great granddaughter; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation with family will be Saturday morning from 9-10AM with a memorial service to begin at 10AM at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery followed by a reception at the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room. The family will direct memorials to a Big Lake Park Restoration Project.
