MANTACHIE – Dennis Coy Butler , 84, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Golden Living Center Nursing Facility in Amory. He was born Aug. 22, 1927, to Amil and Mae Belle Smith Butler. He attended Living Water Community Church in the Eggville community. He worked at Vend Foods and then worked at the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal for 30 years before retiring two years ago. He enjoyed sharing his faith in Christ with others, listening to Southern gospel music, and watching Unity Broadcasting, Channel 39.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Bill Adams and Bro. Horace Barnes officiating. Burial will be in the Fawn Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Dennis E. Butler (Terri) of Aberdeen and Jason Scott Butler of Mantachie; two daughters, Wanda Byars of Tupelo and Patricia Branning (Brian) of Pontotoc; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Harris Butler; two brothers, J.B. Butler and Lando Butler; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Larry Butler, Brian Branning, Jesse Butler, Phillip Swan, Joseph Byars and Stephen Smith.

Visitation will be from 11 a. m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home in Mantachie.
