John Junior Brant, son of John Erven Brant and Ruth Eva (Hamman) Brant was born June 12, 1921 near Truro, Iowa and passed from this life September 12, 2011 at Westbridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset, Iowa at 90 years of age.

John graduated from Truro High School and attended one year of college. He was united in marriage to Mary Evelyn Neidt on September 5, 1942 at Princeton, Missouri. John farmed in the Truro area all his life. He was a member of the Truro Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro. He served as Church superintendent 40 years ago when it was the Congregational Christian Church. John loved to read and fish, ride his horses, and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those relatives who preceded John in death were his parents; children, Raymond Dean, Lance and Beverly - both in infancy; sisters, Freda Brant & Marie Brant; and brothers, William Brant & Walter Brant.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Mary Evelyn Brant of Truro; daughter, Mary Austin of St. Charles; son, Eric Brant of Truro; grandchildren, Tana (Kurt) Krumm of Van Meter, Jared Austin of Des Moines, Jackie (Jeff) Wagner of Truro, Karla (Jeff) Heaberlin of Indianola; great grandchildren, Troy and Laurel Krumm, Miranda and Valerie Wagner, Maddie and Logan Heaberlin; other relatives and many friends.
