Born in Tabasco, CO and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1940. Angela lived in New Lenox for the past 20 years. She served in the United States Marine Corps Women's Reserve Unit stationed in Washington D.C. Angela and her late husband, William E. Reed (United States Navy Veteran) traveled extensively. Both Angela and Bill volunteered at Trinity Services and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Her favorite hobbies were music and art; she was a professional singer for 20 years entertaining many troops in the service and successfully painted in all mediums. Angela believed in "Good Exercise will keep you healthy for a long time."
Preceded in death by her husband, William E. Reed; her parents, Dominic and Rose (nee Pantalone) Porfilio; two brothers, Lance Porfilio and Donny Porfilio; three sisters, Lee D'Alessio, Norma Getson and Joyce Embling. Survived by three sisters, Viola (Raymond) Stimac, Gloria Briney and Donna Porfilio; a sister-in-law, Nancy Porfilio and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral Services from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 10 AM to St. Jude Church, New Lenox for mass at 11:00 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation at the funeral home Friday morning from 8:30AM to 10:00 AM.
