Emily(Emma) Myrtle Williams, was the second child born to Thomas Washington Williams and Gertrude Goodhead Williams in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1907. She married John Walton Traynor in 1927. They lived in New Jersey for awhile. After the death of her mother, Gertrude Williams, she moved to Florida. She cried all the way to Florida because she did not want to move there. At that time, Emma believed native Floridians were hostile to Northerners, and she feared she would not be accepted by the locals. Eventually things got better, her fears were never realized and she came to not only accept Florida as her home; she truly loved the sunshine state.
