This (I believe) is Alverta Virginia "Jennie" Nixon, b/d in Surry and supposed to be wife of Thomas Franklin Hurt and daughter of Nathan Jackson Nixon & Mary Nixon.
Am not sure when they married.

I found a family history chart for Luther Gaston Hurt and his wife Udoxi Arzetta Myrtle White. It shows his parents as Thomas Francis Hurt (1849-1910) and Alverda Virginia Marshall (1857-1925), which means Alverda's maiden name was Marshall and not Nixon. Haven't looked up her death record, but her parents were to have been Henry Marshall & Verlinda Messick
