Mrs Mary Alice Coble, 83 year old mother of Mrs W W Askew of this city, died at her home in Durham at 4:15 a.m. today after an illness of three months. A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Robert C Coble.

Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs W W Askew, Burlington; Mrs W F Tew, Graham; Mrs J S Harvey, Portsmouth, Va; Mrs W P Parrish, Henderson; Mrs H A Adams, Mrs Nannie Glenn, Mrs R S Williamson, and Mrs W M Cook, all of Durham; one son Bunn C Coble, Durham; two sisters, Mrs Katie Hackett, Graham, and Mrs Monroe Coble, Burlington. Sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.
