Mrs. Doris Jean Abraham, 86, longtime Bartlesville area resident, passed from this life at 12:47 A.M. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in the OSU Medical Center, Tulsa. Doris J. Abraham was born March 24, 1925 at Idabel, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Jodie Eastland and Ruthie Daniels.
She moved to Muskogee with family members where she received her education. She later moved to Bartlesville. She was united in marriage to James Abraham, Sr. on March 31, 1947 at Independence, Kansas and from this union four children were born: Valeria Abraham, James Abraham Jr., Gilda Abraham and Janet Abraham. Doris was a homemaker and a member of Greater First Baptist Church.
In addition to her father and mother, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Washington and Herbert Hall; one daughter, Janet Abraham and one son Donald R. Watson and her husband, James Abraham Sr., on August 2, 2008.
Mrs. Abraham will lie in state at the Stumpff Funeral Home where family and friends may call for visitation until Monday morning.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, September 19, 2011 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walter Pettiford as the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the White Rose Cemetery by the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
