He remarried Jennie (born in San Augustine, Texas), on November 27, 1906, in Shelby County, Texas. On October 5, 1939, Mrs. Samford's home and all contents were destroyed by fire. She died at the home of her son-in-law in Center, Shelby County, Texas, on February 23, 1944.
