CHETOPA – Earl (Happ) Brooks, a rural Chetopa farmer, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 1954, at Oswego Hospital where he had been a patient for four days. He was 66.

He was born Dec. 5, 1887, at Taylorsville, Ill. As a child he moved to the Edna vicinity with his parents. He remained in that vicinity until a few years ago when he moved to the Chetopa area.

He was a bachelor.

Survivors include a sister, Miss Vera Brooks, who made her home with him, and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Edna Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at the Miller Funeral Home here at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. V.F. Cloninger officiating.

Burial will be in the North Edna Cemetery.
