Lydale was born Feb. 26, 1914, at 525 Preusser St., the first child of Lyda Moore and J. Herschel Boggs and granddaughter of Professor W.R. Moore, pioneer educator who conducted a private school here for students preparing to enter college. The daughter of a gifted pianist, Lydale attended San Angelo schools and graduated from Kidd-Key College and Conservatory of Music in Sherman, Texas. She taught piano lessons for 10 years before entering the real estate business in 1945.
She was married to Shell Barth on Nov. 25, 1934. The marriage ended in divorce in 1966. At the time of her death, she was the widow of Ed B. Heinze.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had been a youth counselor and Sunday school teacher. She was a former president of the Philharmonic Society. In 1962, she was elected the first feminine president of the San Angelo Board of Realtors and in 1965 was the State President of Women's Council of the National Association of Real Estate Boards. She was a graduate of the Realtors Institute of Texas.
She is survived by one son, Shell Barth Jr. and wife Janet of San Angelo; two daughters, Brenda Nan Barth of Dallas and Mrs. H.E. (Becky) Kirkpatrick of Austin; three grandsons, J. William Black III, Shell Lloyd Black and Robert Barth Black; two granddaughters, Sandra Lee Barth and Sherry Shell Barth; five great-grandchildren; three nieces; and a sister-in-law, Myra Boggs Mumaw of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Herschel J. Boggs of Dallas.
