GASTONIA - Hamit Decial Dixon, 71, passed away Sept. 1, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Gaston County. Decial was the owner and operator of Dixie Marine.
He was preceded in death by parents Arson and Vernie Dixon; infant brother, Jerry Dixon; and son, Mitchell Dixon.
Survivors include son, Mike and wife Ladonn Dixon of Mount Holly; son, Jason Dixon of York, S.C.; and six grandchildren, David Dixon of York, S.C.; Chris and wife Caroline of Mount Holly, Katie Dixon of Mount Holly, Leander, Darrell and Decial Dixon of York, S.C.; and former wife, Lynn Dixon.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Grace Baptist Church, 300 Westland Farm Road, Mount Holly.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
