Dean Lynn Wilson, age 56, of Manhattan, died October 8, 2009, at Stoneybrook Retirement Community in Manhattan.

He was born November 19, 1952, in Manhattan, the son of Joseph L. and Arlene (Brase) Wilson. He graduated from Manhattan High School in 1970 and attended Kansas State University.

Dean was confirmed at the Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Manhattan in 1965. He was a loyal Kansas State fan. For years Dean met weekly to compete with a small group of avid handball players. He was also active in league bowling, slow-pitch softball, and basketball. Dean also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the outdoors with his sons.

Mr. Wilson was employed by Ag Press for over 30 years. His job included printing the Grass and Grain as well as other area newspapers. Later he was the pre-press supervisor. Dean previously worked with the Koppenheffer Nursery in Manhattan and the Olathe Daily News. He also enjoyed his work as a farmer/stockman especially in partnership with his brother.

On May 31, 1980, in Meriden, Kansas, he was married to the former Paulette Ketter. Mrs. Wilson survives of the home. Additional survivors include his parents of St. George; three sons: Christopher James Wilson of Des Moines, IA, Clinton Dean Wilson of Manhattan, and Joseph Anthony Wilson of the home; one brother, Duane Wilson and his wife Karen of Manhattan; his brother in law, Bill Fountaine of Arkansas City, KS, his mother-in-law Mae Ketter, Holton, KS and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Dean was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Donna Lee Fountaine.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Ralph Hansen officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Wilson will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.
