Bessie Cope passed away in Madison,Indiana, but was buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Parnell, Missouri. She had lived for many years in Madison while married to Raymond Cope. Mr. Cope may have had the headstone placed in Madison with both their names and dates of birth prior to Bessie passing away. Bessie had always wanted to be buried back in Parnell. She is buried beside her first husband, Oscar Carmichael and her parents, Charles and Laura Shelman.
