Annie Laura Hays, 99, of Blue Mountain Estates in Smithsburg, Md., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born June 7, 1913, in Garfield, Md., she was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Creola (Harne) Winfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Hays, on July 22, 1969.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Garfield United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Isabel Stottlemyer and husband, Otho, of Sabillasville, Md., and Mary Ann Wiles and husband, Roger, of Myersville, Md.; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special people, Jeannie Huntzberry and Sara Stottlemyer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Cyrus Hays; one daughter, Josephine Buhrman; two sisters, Mary Kline and Ethel Frushour; and seven brothers Jesse, Edgar, Fred, Glenn, Carroll, Paul and Wilmer.
