Aaron Jones, 76, of Long Fork, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at his residence.
He was born October 30, 1934, in Floyd County, the son of the late Ambrose and Janie Quillen Jones.
He was a retired coal miner, a Korean War Veteran, a member of the Johns Creek DAV chapter #166, a Kentucky Colonel and Assistant Moderator of the Long Fork Old Regular Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Jones; one daughter, Dottie Jones.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky Jones of Long Fork, and Ronald (Lisa) Jones of Little Robinson; one daughter, Sharon (Michael) Tackett of Long Fork; two grandchildren and two foster grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011, in the Long Fork Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Amil Little Memorial Cemetery, Long Fork.
Visitation is in the Long Fork Regular Baptist Church after 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with services beginning at 7, the Johns Creek DAV Chapter 166 officiating.
Arrangements are under direction of the Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
