Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late Dewey T. and Minnie Mae Taylor Alexander.
Mr. Alexander retired from Judson Mill and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Brown of Piedmont and Cynthia Lorie Strickland of Greenville; a son, Tony Alexander of Greenville; a sister, Gail Guthrie of Greenville; three brothers, Robert, Kenneth, and Richard Alexander, all of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by a son, Michael Joe Alexander.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West.
The family is at their respective homes.
