First name is spelled 'Caldona' on headstone, but an extended family member tells me the name was actually Caldonia, and was "handed down in each generation".
Caldonia M. Derrick was born 29 Dec 1854 in Benton County, Missouri; the youngest of eleven children born to Harvey and Caroline (Feaster) Derrick.
Caldonia was united in marriage 14 Dec 1873 in Benton County, Missouri with George Wright Lindsey; son of Felix Grundy and Mary "Elizabeth" (Feaster) Lindsey.
Caldonia and George were the parents of eight children:
1. Netti Lee born 1875 married Plez E. Renfro
2. Grundy Harvey (1876-1876)
3. Nellie Josephine born 1877 married Walter Williamson
4. Mary Caroline born 1879 married Herman Hockmuth
5. Effie Wright born 1881 married Mac Phelps
6. Sallie Ann born 1884 married Ward McGlothlen
7. William Severe born 1886 married Ellen Thompson
8. Felix Price born 1889 married Ethel Sharp Miller
Caldonia passed away 01 Sep 1890 in Sulphur Springs, Benton County, Arkansas at the age of 35 years. She was laid to rest in Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Benton, Arkansas.
George was left a widower at the age of 36 years of age and with eight youngsters to raise. He took for his second wife Arvilla Jennie Shirley on 12 Jun 1892. They were laid to rest in Lee Cemetery in Gravette, Benton County, Arkansas.

Lindsey, wife of G.W. Lindsey of this place, aged 35 yrs, 9 months, and 1 day. Caldonia M. Derrick was born in Benton Co, Mo Dec 29th 1854 and moved with her parents to this county in 1866 and joined the M.E. Church, South. She was married to G.W. Lindsey Dec 14 1873. She was the mother of eight children, five dau's and three sons, all of whom survive her except one son by whose side she now sleeps in the Butler Creek Cem. Her funeral was preached by the Rev J.M. McGraw at the Baptist Church on Butler's Creek on Sept 2nd 1890 to a large concourse of friends and relatives. - (F.G. Lindsey, Jr) - Benton Co Democrat - Sept 12 1890.
