IN MEMORIAM

Jane R. Montgomery, Eller was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina, July 1st 1827, and died in Harvard, Nebraska, July 24, 1909. Aged 82 years and 23 days. She was married to John C. Eller, February 18, 1845. To this union nine children were born. Of these, James A. Eller, of Batavia, Iowa; A. H. Eller of Packwood, Iowa; Saphronia Colvard, of Batavia, Iowa, J. J. Eller of Spokane, Washington, C. T. Eller of Hastings, Nebraska; J. F. Eller and Mrs. A. E. Fisher of this city are still living. E. L. Eller and Theodocia Eller having preceded her. Her husband, John C. Eller died Nov 21st 1892, and was buried in the Harvard cemetery.

In 1853, she with her husband and five children moved from North Carolina to Jefferson County, Iowa; and to Clay county Nebraska, in 1873. Since the death of her husband she has made her home with Mrs. A. E. Fisher.

Very early in life she united with the Baptist church and remained a faithful member to the last. Always abounding in the good works of the church. The funeral was held at the Christian church in this city on Monday afternoon at 2 O'clock. The Rev Cepoc, the pastor of the Salem Baptist church near Trumbull, of which she had been a member. The services were attended by a large number of sympathizing friends and relatives. Burial was made by the side of her husband.

Thus another has gone from us and has left the memory of a loving mother and splendid Christian neighbor and friend.
