Wilkins Funeral Held Saturday
The Rev. Thomas J. Reese officiated Saturday afternoon at the Baptist church as funeral services were held for A. A. “Bert” Wilkins, 58, prominent farmer of west of Blair, who died last Thursday morning following a lengthy illness. Six nephews of Mr. Wilkins served as pallbearers. Interment was in Blair cemetery.
Mr. Wilkins, lifelong resident of Washington county and a leading democratic worker for 30 years, is survived by his wife and six children, Mrs. Clarence Hansen of Orum, Marshall E. Wilkins of Blair, Warren Wilkins of Ketchikan, Alaska, Mrs. P. C. Christensen of Tekamah, Albert E. Wilkins of Irvington and Mrs. Raymond Gillett of Blair. He is also survived by three brothers, Cleon and Chauncey Wilkins of Blair and Grover of Kennard; and five sisters, Mrs. Frank Biffar of Blair, Mrs. John Biffar of Arlington, Mrs. Fred Peck of Blair, Mrs. Ralph Johns of Chehalis, Washington, and Mrs. Herman Petersen of Herman.
