LaMont Hymas Derricott, age 73, a long time resident of Sandy, Utah, passed away at his home on Oct. 4, 1991.

Born December 8, 1917, in Liberty, Idaho, the son of Charles and Lavernia Hymas Derricott. Married Grace Jones, February 4, 1948. He was educated in Bear Lake, Idaho schools and served in the Army during World War II for four years.Mont was well known for his talents in gardening and landscaping, and for his generosity in helping those in need. He was employed by Salt Lake County and retired in 1983 after 15 years of service. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survived by his wife, Grace; son, Monte, both of Sandy; step- son, William Jones, Battle Mtn., Nevada; 13 grandchildren; brother, Lee Dean Derricott, Santa Rosa, Calif., sister, Jean Johnson, Shelly, Idaho; and many nieces and nephew. Preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Robert Jones; seven brothers: Earl, Ernest, Rolla, LeRoy, Wilford, Grant and Fern; three sisters: Eva Lauridsen, Ruth Derricott and Almeda Young.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 8, 2 p.m., in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, in Sandy, where friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, one hour prior. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
