Michael Joe Alexander, 51, of 609 Roe Road, husband of Mary Whitt Alexander, of the home, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Donald Billy and Mary Jo Burdette Alexander, of Greenville. He was a general contractor and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Alexander is survived by a son, Michael Ethan Alexander, of the home; a brother, Thomas Anthony Alexander, of Greenville; and two sisters, Donna Susan Brown and Cynthia Lorie Philbeck, both of Greenville.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Calvin Holland officiating.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, where the family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The family is at the home of a cousin: Barbara Greer, 608 Roe Road, Greenville.

Robinson Funeral Home - 1425 Powdersville Road is assisting the family with arrangements.
