According to W.P. Sharp diary of 1874, he went to see Cousin Andy Haynes and found him very sick. He died July 20th and Tuesday, July 21st, Mr. Sharp wrote, "Brother Plummer read, prayed and gave a nice exhortation, formed a procession. The members of the Sunday prayer meeting union at old school house near Mrs. Oliver's in which he was a member, marched out first with the old men, then the friends of the dead, followed by the neighbors, made a long procession." He was buried at Shiloh.
