He was Ensign of the Sixth Company, 2nd (or South) Regiment of Ulster County, Mamakating Precinct in 1775. Then he was commissioned Lieutenant in the 6th Company, Captain Abraham Cuddleback's Company, Colonel James McClaughy's Regiment of Ulster County, NY Militia. LT Samuel King served in the Alarms of June 1776, October 1778 and July 1779.
