HOLENSHADE BROTHERS RITES SATURDAY; TWO FLYERS KILLED IN WAR
Services for Lt. Daniel M. Holenshade Jr., 22, and his brother, Flight Officer Harry Lee, 21, who were killed in action in World War II. on different battle fronts, will be held in Mount Emblem cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday. Both men lived in Oak Park and attended Oak Park High school and Beloit college. Lt. Holenshade was killed March 22, 1944, in Africa while serving as a pilot with the troop carrier command of the 8th air force. Flight Officer Holenshade was killed Aug. 13, 1945, in Manila while a fighter pilot with the 13th air force. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Holenshade Sr., now of Savannah, Ga., and Lt. Holenshade's widow, Barbara P. Holenshade. The Charles Roth post of the American Legion, Oak Park, of which both flyers were members, will conduct the services.
