Delmer Ray Shoults was the son of Grady and Hazel Bell Bunch Shoults. He passed from this life September 3, 2011 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 69 years. Delmer had lived in Vian, Oklahoma for the past 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and worked as a fishing guide on the Illinois River for many years. He was a member of the Local 584 Ironworkers and an avid member of the NRA. Delmer served as a former mayor for the City of Vian and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister, Betty Fay Shoults Tucker. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, three children and one sister, along with several grandchildren and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from 6 to 8pm at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11am at the Broken Bow First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Meri Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Hochatown Cemetery.

Delmer was known and loved by so many people and it is appreciated that many friends and family have shown such an outpouring of love for him. His fishing guide skills were treasured and respected by so many and he was famous in his own right on the Illinois River for finding the biggest and best fish. Especially for large Striper. Delmer was at his happiest when he was fishing with friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
