ALICE M. MOOMAU

YAKIMA - Alice M. Moomau, 91 of Yakima left her family to be with our Heavenly Father August 25, 2007. Alice M. Kardell was born June 26, 1916 in Worcester, MA. She was the only child of Swedish immigrants George and Anna (Peterson) Kardell. Alice was 18 months old when her mother died of influenza.

Alice attended grammar school where she learned to speak English at age 6. She graduated from high school, and shortly after married Richard J. Heath. They had two sons, Gary and Dean.

They moved to Inglewood, CA. Her father later remarried Evelyn, and she now had a step-sister Joyce.

During World War II she went to work for Airesearch Mfg. in Los Angeles, CA. She started in the machine shop running various machines. After the War was over she was laid off for a short time. She returned and later was promoted to an office position. Alice worked 25+ years for Airesearch.

Prior to retirement she met and married her sole mate Donald Moomau. A few years later they moved to Lincoln, CA, where they lived until Don's death in 1994. She then moved to Naches, WA to be near her sons.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents George and Anna Kardell, husband Donald Moomau, and grandson John Heath.

Alice left behind two sons, Gary Heath (Margie), Dean Heath (Teri). Grandchildren Debbie Troy (David), Linda Culbertson (Jim), David Heath, Tammie Rosales (Larry Swanson), Suzanne Heath and Richard Heath. Great grandchildren Rochelle Rosales, Jason Culbertson, Kathryn Heath, Richard Rosales, Cullen Heath, Rachel Heath, Max Knaus, and Karlee Culbertson.

Also still living and left behind are Kardells (Cardells), Moomaus, Blands, Alice's beloved sister Joyce.

A Celebration of Life will be held September 8, at 2:00 at the Nile Valley Community Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the church or your favorite charity.

The family would like to thank all of Alice's friends for their thoughts and prayers during the past 6 weeks, while she was at Memorial Hospital and Willow Springs Care.

A special thanks to Pastor Craig and Lani Norwood, Dr. Judy Harvey, Hospice, all the doctors and nursing staff for their loving care and support.

"I AM FREE"

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I am following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with time of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one touched.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me.
God wanted me now, he set me free.
