THE EDMOND ENTERPRISE (Edmond, Oklahoma County, OK) 7-28-1910 Obituary The Bellevue (Iowa) Leader of last week contained an extended obituary of the late W.H. Reed, who died at the home of L.B. Challen two weeks ago, from which the following is an extract:
W.H. Reed was born on a farm in Washington township, May 15, 1867 and died at Edmond, Oklahoma, July 14, 1910. He was the son of Wm. H. and Catherine Reed, and graduated from the Bellevue High School in 1887. He clerked in A.G. Kegler's dry goods store and for several years was engaged in business at Pawnee City, Nebr. Of recent years he has been free of active business cares, but suffered from asthma and heart trouble which compelled him to make frequent trips to the mountains for relief. He was returning from one of these trips and was coming home by way of Oklahoma where he had property interest when he was attacked with typhoid fever which resulted in his death.
Mr. Reed was a young man of excellent habits, fine moral character and sunshiny disposition. He was everybody's friend and his jovial good nature endeared him to all. He was an enthusiastic Mason and did much to promote the growth of the Bellevue lodge. He was also a member of the Commandery of Maqualleta and Shrine of Davenport and of Bellevue Chapter No. 359 O.F.S. which latter organization attended the funeral in body.
