James E. Wildrick, 78, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 due to complications of diabetes.

Born Nov. 8, 1927 in Laceyville, Pa., he was the son of the late Stacy E. and Esther Brown Wildrick.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and received his honorable discharge on Oct. 2, 1947 in Washington, D.C. He was the original owner of Fashionable Coiffures in Lake Park, Fla. He was employed at the Robert Packer Hospital for a time. He retired from Palm Beach County Water Utilities in January 1994. Jim was a member of the Coastman Choir in West Palm Beach in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Jim was a member of the Model Railroad Club at South Florida Fair Grounds in the ‘70s and ‘80s. He was a talented artist bringing life to whatever he painted. He loved to sing and play guitar in his youthful years and was a lead singer in Woody Williams Band. He really enjoyed music and watching his favorite musical TV programs. Jim was a caring man, always helping his neighbors. He is loved by many and will be missed.

Jim was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Zeppa, in 1961; his brother, Lyle in June 2005; his aunts and uncles, Martha and Alton Annabel, Ethel and Fred Russell, Stewart and Rose Brown and Charles and Beatrice Brown.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Virginia, at home; loving children, David of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Melanie of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Jimmy of Clinton, Md.; his adoring granddaughter, Marissa of Prot St. Lucie, Fla.; his sister, Phylis Wydeen of Honesdale, Pa.; nephews, Joe, Jerry, Jimmy and Richard Zeppa, Francis Steven Connors and Patrick Wydeen; nieces, Jean Marie Bennett and Esther, Kathy and Stacy Wydeen.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. at the Howard-Price Funeral Home, North Palm Beach, Fla.

Family and friends may call at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, Jan. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at the North Flat Cemetery, Laceyville Pa., with Daniel Halneck officiating.
