Carl STUBBS, 89, 18198 17th Road, Culver, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Parkview Hospital, Plymouth.
He was born in Fulton County to Leslie and DoraBelle WOOLF STUBBS. On June 18, 1927, in Knox, he married Laura A. SHAW, who died Jan. 21, 1974. He retired as a maintenance engineer at Culver Academies after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. Lodge.
Surviving are a daughter, Marlene R. (Richard) SHODDY, Culver; a son, Donald M. STUBBS, Culver; three grandsons; a step-granddaughter; five grart-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Glendolyn DeMONT, Bremen; Mattie BARTH, Mishawaka; Loretta BRADWAY, Rochester, and a brother, Ivan STUBBS, Culver. Preceding in death were a son, William L. [STUBBS], three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Culver, with the Rev. Daniel J. BERGER officiating. Burial will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Bonine Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. I.O.O.F. Memorial services will be conducted by the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. Lodge at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or to the Culver-Union Township Fire Department.
