Services for Mr. Phillips will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Sellars Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Trice officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Norene, Tenn. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 6, from 4-8 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, from noon until service time.
Mr. Phillips, 68, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011. He worked for the Corps of Engineers for 33 years, served with Civil Defense for 17 years and was a County Commissioner for 8 years.
He was preceded in death by father, James Thomas 'Buddy' Phillips; mother, Eura Mae Hall Phillips; and great-grandson, Justin Dakota Pruitte.
Survivors include: wife of 48 years, Patsy Agee Phillips; children, Cindy (Bobby) Lackey, Randall (Britt) Phillips and Michael (Tammy) Phillips; brother-in-law, Vaughn Akins; grandchildren, Pamela (Bobby) Pruitte, Rebecca Fisher, Jeff Shaffer, Micheal Shaffer, Bryson Phillips, Alyssia Lackey, Branton Phillips and Logan Lackey; great-grandsons, Aaidan Bollenbeck and Jesse Shaffer.
