Lee Rust and a crew of nine men were repairing a bridge on the South Fork river when it collapsed. All except Mr. Rust survived with minor injuries.

Lee was the youngest child of the late Joe Rust. He was survived by 2 sisters, 6 sons, and 4 daughters. His wife, Ed Anthony Rust, 3 sisters, and 5 brothers preceded him in death.

As superintendent of county roads, Mr. Rust was a well-known, trusted, and respected man.
