Man Died At Residence Sunday Night - John Wesley Batchelor, 46, a resident of Haleyville Rt. 5, died at his home Sunday (8 Dec 1946) night at 9:30 p. m. Funeral services were held at the Highlands Methodist Church Tuesday (10 Dec 1946) afternoon at 2 p. m with Rev. Wiggins officiating. Burial followed immediately in the city cemetery with Nichols in charge.
Surviving are the wife (Eva Louisa (Wehunt) Batchelor); three sons: James W, Charles E, and Travis W. Batchelor; three daughters: Mrs. Mildred Garner, and Misses Helen Louise and Mary Batchelor; four brothers: Tom, W. R. (William Robert), L. M., and Alton A; two sisters: Mrs. Lilly Bell Pounders and Mrs. Ruth Lindsey.
