Funeral Rites For Ted Young Held

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 1, for Ted Young, 47-year old farmer and stockman, who was found dead in his truck one mile west of Memphis, Friday, September 28.

Young was a resident of Lakeview and had lived in Hall County all of his life.

He was born July 8 1903, the son of Mr. and Mrs. P.O. Young. He was reared in Hall County and married Miss Lina Hull April 30, 1924 at Childress.

Funeral services were conducted by Minister Bedford Smith in the First Christian Church in Memphis. Young was a member of this church. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: E.W. Evans Jim Franks, Woodrow Floyd, Hugh Lambert, M.A. Beasley, Barney Floyd.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ted Young; three daughters, Margie Lou Young and Juanella Young, both of Lakeview; Mrs. Paul Smith, Memphis; three sons, Doyle Young and Royce Young, both of Lakeview; and Carl Lee Young of Memphis; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.O. Young of Memphis; a brother, Gilbert Young, Lakeview; and a sister, Mrs. Vesta Jefferies [sic] Memphis.

Murphy-Spicer funeral directors directed the services.
