PIKE, Dr. Wallace Wyndham - age 88, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at home surrounded by family.

Dr. Pike was born December 22, 1921 in Clare, MI, [Note: birth was in Vernon Twp, Isabella County - very near Clare, MI] the son of Seer S. and Bernice (Stevens) Pike. He married Marcella Whims on September 1, 1941 in Pontiac and she preceded him in death on May 30, 1999. Dr. Pike has resided in Swartz Creek since 1956. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. Dr. Pike was a graduate of Spring Arbor College, Greenville College and received his medical degree from St. Louis University, He practiced medicine in Swartz Creek from 1956-1986.

Dr. Pike had a deep faith in God and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, patriot, physician and friend. Left to cherish his memory are: four children, Sarah Bush, James Pike and wife, Jean, Joseph Pike and wife, Bonnie, Susan and husband, Philip Hall; grandchildren, George Bush and Roberta, Gerick Bush and wife, Teri, Sarah Kay and husband David Thamm, Rebekah and husband, Levi Boldt, Timothy Pike and wife, Heather, Rachel and husband Rick Schultz, Deborah and husband, Dr. Kress Townley, Sharon Pike, Emilee Pike, Holly and husband, Clyde Ylitalo, Pamela and husband, Erik Schmidt, Jacob Hall and fiancee, Brittany; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Megan Bush, Matthew and Brittany Bush, Zachary, Peyton, Sarah Anne and Emmaly Kay Miller, Helena and Christian Boldt, Adalyn, Natalie and William Pike, Elijah and Noah Schultz, and baby boy Townley (whose on the way), Hope and Ruth Crabtree, Corey and Allison Ylitalo. He was also preceded in death by: his parents; children, Barbara Ann and John S. Pike; brothers, Arthur and Donald Pike; sons-in-law, George P. Bush and Douglas Earp. Family wishes to extend a special thank you to caregiver, Lisa Bush for her love and care.

Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Westwood Heights Church Free Methodist, 3397 Windland Drive, Flint with Pastor Mitchell Vader officiating. Interment will follow at Swartz Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Monday and 2-5 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Westwood Heights Church Free Methodist.
