Soon after Edith's death, Frank husband moved with the children to Minnesota where he married secondly, Emma Houchins, with whom he had a daughter, Leone Samantha. Frank died in Minneapolis in 1937.

His many friends in this and the Cylinder community will regret to learn that Frank Wells, a former Palo Alto county recorder, died recently in a Minneapolis hospital. His remains were interred at his home at Anandale, Minnesota. Mr. Wells is survived by three daughters and one son. Mrs. Wells also survives.
Mr. Wells was well known in Emmetsburg and at Cylinder. He was the first school teacher in the school after it had been moved into Cylinder. Following his experience as a teacher he engaged in the hardware business with his brother George at Cylinder. Mr. Wells was united in marriage to Miss Edith DeMouth, daughter of the Civil War veteran, Theo DeMouth. She was a sister of Frank DeMouth of this city. Mr. Wells was elected county recorder in 1902 and took office in 1903. He served two terms and was succeeded by Miss Pearl Richardson, the present Mrs. John Jensvold of this city. After leaving office he remained in Emmetsburg for a short time where his first wife passed away. He later moved to Anandale where he was married a second time.
