Cynthia Heflin Solis, 55, of Madison, AL, passed away Friday, September 2, at her residence. Born in Fredericksburg, VA, Cindy was predeceased by her father, Robert Mason Heflin. She is survived by her husband, Rick Solis, of Madison, AL; and her mother, Elizabeth Hall Heflin; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan H. and Robert K. Bailey III; and a niece, Lauren B. Lewis, all of King George, VA. Also surviving her are her father-in-law, Kick Solis, and a brother- and sister-in-law, Michael and Vickie Solis, all of Macon, GA. Cindy was a graduate of Stafford Senior High School, Falmouth, VA, and the University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg, VA. She was a systems engineer for Raytheon Services Company for the past 15 years. Previously, she was employed by Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, AL. Active in the dog community, Cindy was a past president of the Huntsville Kennel Club, and was a charter member and past president of the Tennessee Valley Weimaraner Club. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm at Madison Chapel on Monday, September 5. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, at 4 pm at Madison Memorial Gardens. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the International Myeloma Foundation or by giving blood or platelets in Cindy's memory. Please mail donations in memory of Cynthia H.
