Johanna E. Huls, 77 of 216 Bell St., passed away in a local hospital Tuesday morning.
She was born on Nov. 14, 1894 near Filley, and had been a Gage County resident all of her life, living in Beatrice since 1934. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph; three sons, Harm Huls, Beatrice, John A. Huls, Lincoln, and LeRoy R. Huls, Boulder, Colo.; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Viola G.) Ackerman, Beatrice; Mrs. Emma Vliet, Lincoln; Mrs. Charles (Darlene) Cochran, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Robert (Wilma) Larimore, Beatrice and Mrs. Donald (Donna Mae) Wahlstrom, Niwot, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Kugler, Brainard; 35 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, two sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Ronald G. Beckman, and rev. Fred K. Kumpf officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Home Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding the services.
A memorial has been established to the voice of St. John and the Cancer Fund with Allen Cookus Jr. and A. H. Othmer in charge.
A Family prayer service will be held at 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the church chapel.
