Arthur was born Sept. 29, 1916, in Wyandotte, to the late Arthur Peter and Louise (LaBar) Gabriel. He married Elaine (Salliotte) on Dec. 30, 1944.
Art graduated from Marquette Dental School in Milwaukee, Wis. While there, he was honored to be president of their Newman Club.
Later he moved his dental practice to Torch Lake. He was a dentist for 54 years, assisted the entire time by his lovely wife, Elaine.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme.
Art enjoyed praying the rosary daily, sailing, cribbage, baking bread, watching the Green Bay Packers and strongly believed in higher education.
Surviving Arthur are his daughters, Colleen (Craig) Donovan, Mary Louise (John) King and Connie Reak; grandchildren, Jessica (Ray) Lincolnhol, Andria (Tony) Yandura, Tina (James) Zoulas, Jim Donovan and Erin Donovan; and three great-grandchildren.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Elaine.
Mass will be held for Arthur at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme, with a visitation held one hour prior. Entombment will take place at Oakwood Catholic Cemetery.
