Betty Gay Peters, 87, of Olathe, Kan., passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Betty was the youngest of 10 siblings, born on Sept. 29, 1924, in Atchison, Kan., to Harry Otto and Iva Gay (Bathurst) Moore. She attended Atchison High School. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Peters, their son, Michael R. Peters and daughter-in-law, Linda Peters. Survivors include her children, Sharion K. Hanson (Roger) of Lenexa, Kan., Ronald D. Peters (Cathie) of El Dorado Springs, Mo., David L. Peters of Paola, Kan., and Marvin D. Peters (Pam) of Mound City, Kan. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
