Susan K. (Baird) Gordon

Susan K. Gordon, 76, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend. Susan was born on December 31, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles and Ruth (Crawford) Baird.

She attended and graduated from The Kansas School for the Deaf. Susan was a life time member of The Deaf Cultural Center. She devoted her life to Christ, spending time with her family and to the deaf community. She was also a talented seamstress, artist and she loved to travel and work in her garden.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 41 years of marriage: Orville A. Gordon, her beloved son: Robert Orville Gordon, brothers: John Baird, Charles Baird and sister: Elizabeth Baird. Survivors include her two daughters: Cynthia (Cindy) Porter and her husband Doug, Becky Gordon, and one sister Ruth Ann Wilding.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her 11 grandchildren: Ashley Follett, Jessica Gordon, Jake Zimmer, Tiffany Heath, Natalie Hunter, Anthony Porter, Tyson Cramer, Justin Cramer, Rachel Porter, Isaiah Porter and Austin Porter. She is also survived by 12 great- grandchildren: Adelyn Follett, Shaila Cramer, Patrick Cowley, Jenna Heath, Brandon Heath, Madeline Hunter, Mason Hunter, Luella Cramer, Laonna Cramer, Isabella Cramer, Ashlyn Kennedy and Ian Kennedy.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 29th at Center of Grace 520 South Harrison Street Olathe, Kansas. Burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home.
