Fred A. Borkhardt, 61, Resident This City 20 Years, Dies; Rites Wednesday
Fred August Borkhardt, 61, residing at 606 East Bidwell Street, an employee of Allied Mills, Inc., Route 48 North, died at 3:30 o'clock Sunday morning in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, where he had been admitted on Saturday. He had been ill for some time.
Mr. Borkhardt was born November 16, 1903, at Morrisonville, the son of Herman and Maggie Klinger Borkhardt. He was married to Oleva Oller, December 18, 1924, at Hillsboro. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints Church. Mr. Borkhardt had been a resident of this city 20 years, coming here from Hillsboro.
Surviving are his widow, a son, Louis, of Moline; a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Holstlaw of this city; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Shafer Funeral Home. Elders Jason Daykin and Delmar Jones of the Latter Day Saints Church will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, northeast of this city.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 6 o'clock this afternoon, and 7 to 9 o'clock tonight, in the funeral home.
