Miss Field and Mr. Slade Are Wed
Jack Slade and Miss Sarah Elizabeth Field were quietly married today at 1 o'clock at the M. E. parsonage by Rev. J. W. Peters in the presence of the bride's mother and father Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Field of Stockton, and the groom's mother and brother, Mrs. Rosanna Slade and Thomas Slade. The wedding will be in the nature of a big surprise to many, as the young people have a large circle of friends in this city and surrounding country and cities. The young bride is a girl of the highest type of refinement and education and has that charm of womanliness as refreshing as it is sweet. She has reigned for some time as the prettiest woman in this section of the county and the groom is to be congratulated on his choice.
Mr. Slade is a retired farmer and is reported to be the wealthiest landowner in Butler county. He is an all round good fellow and in every way worthy of his young bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Slade left immediately after the ceremony for Atlantic City on a wedding journey of three or four weeks and on their return will reside at the groom's beautiful home, two miles south of town where they will be at home to their host of friends.
