Former Newspaper Writer on Art Subjects and Author Dies in Winnetka.

Walter C. Larned, who in years yast was art editor of the Daily News and the Chicago Record, died Friday at his home in Winnetka. He lectured on art and wrote several works on the historic churches and cathedrals of France. He was born in Chicago in 1850. He was graduated from the Harvard Law school in 1874 and was admitted to the bar the same year. In 1875 he married Emma Scribner, daughter of Charles Scribner of New York. He leaves three sons and a daughter. A private funeral is to be held from the home today. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
