John Ford, 61, of Goose Creek, formerly of Quincy, Mass., and Rockland, Mass., passed away Aug. 30, 2011. Born in Quincy, to the late James A. and Catherine (Parsley) Ford, he moved to Goose Creek, 15 years ago. John served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. A member of the American Legion Post 166 and life member of the VFW and Fleet Reserve, he also enjoyed playing golf. In addition to his wife, Janet Ford; his son, John Ford Jr.; and daughter, Heather Ford, all of Goose Creek, he is survived by two brothers, Jerry Ford of Weymouth, Mass., Joe Ford of Florida; and two sisters, Marcia Gill of Plympton, Mass., and Elizabeth Ford; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James Ford, Catherine Bigger and Patricia (Cissy) Litchfield. Donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 5965 Core Ave., No. 603, North Charleston, SC 29406.
