Elizabeth Ann Hackert, 82, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Sigourney Care Center. She was born May 8, 1929, near Farson to John and Avis Osterfoss Hagen. She graduated from Farson High School in 1949, where she was proud to have played guard for their State Basketball Team. On March 18, 1951, she married Paul Hackert at the Lutheran Church in Hedrick. They lived and farmed northwest of Sigourney their life. Paul died October 13, 1999. Elizabeth has resided at the Sigourney Care Center since 2008.

She enjoyed quilting, poultry, lambs, and made a great angel food cake. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Sigourney.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, a brother Bobby Hagen, and two sisters Jennie Avery, and Rachel Welsh.

She is survived by two sons, David and wife Bonnie Hackert, of Hedrick, John and wife Jeannie Hackert, of Sigourney, four grandchildren Matthew, Susan, Nathan, and Tassa Hackert.

Funeral Service: 10 am Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the Holm Funeral Home. Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney. Visitation: 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
