Maynard Garner, of 316 E. Lincoln St., Ionia, died Friday evening at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. He was born June 6, 1916, in Middleton, the son of John and Amanda Garner. He was married to Vicie Greenhoe, who preceded him in death in 1977. He was a retired maintenance man at the Ionia Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth and Gary Garner, of Sand Lake; two stepsons, Glen Wolfington of Ionia, and Robert Wolfington of Lenoir, N.C.; two daughters,Janet Auston of Lenoir, N.C. and Jeane Wright of Lowell; one brother, George Garner of Oregon; two sisters, Edna Patterson of Ionia and Clara Pell of Arizona; 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and a special friend, Mrs. Jennie Thomas of Ionia.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Hull Memorial Chapel, Muir. The Rev. Rick Martin, of the Open Bible Church of Ionia, officiated. Later burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.
