Estherville – Services for Albert L. Cole, 85, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Huntington Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Friday, Sept. 11, 1987 at Holy Family Hospital.
Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Sunday.
He was born Nov. 3, 1901 in Cass County, Minn., the son of George and Minderva [Minerva] (Mannin) Cole. He attended Cass County country schools. ON March 1, 1927 he was united in marriage with Iva Sidles at Dolliver. The couple farmed in Martin County, Minn. and Huntington area until moving into Estherville in 1964. He operated a feed store in Huntington until his retirement in 1970. He was a member of the Huntington Methodist Church and ASCS Board.
Survivors include one son George and wife Fran, Estherville; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five brothers, Jack, Mazeppa, Minn., George, Winthrop, Minn., Leonard, Estherville, Everett, Pillager, Minn. and Leslie of Shreveport, La.; four sisters, Minnie Jaugen, Minneapolis, Junella Richmond, Muskegon, Mich., Dorothy Miller, Hixton, Wis., and Anna Farber, Portland, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sept. 18, 1983, one son, parents, three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 12, 1987)
